Profile Information

Planned realisation and outcomes CCPE aims to transform empirical approaches of producing the drugs of the future in a safe way. Both the time scale for drug development (now up to 12 years) as well as the excessive costs (up to 1 – 2 billion Euro per drug) will be significantly reduced. Research will focus on systematic product- and process development strategies, on the synthesis of structured materials, as well as on process scale-up, optimization and control strategies (PAT). The center’s main impacts will be: • Strengthening Austria’s position in the fields of life sciences, human technologies and engineering • Reduced costs, consistent and reliable manufacturing of pharmaceuticals • Faster, scientifically sound development of new products • Development of highly trained human resources by establishing a master curriculum unique in Europe.
