Project Details
Description
In this doctoral thesis it is shown that reference-process-models for the automotive industry can be realized despite the complex nature of business processes. The main purpose of the reference-models is the reduction of the planning effort for new vehicle projects, as well as the homogenization between engineering and production. In this research, a special procedure for its development is outlined and approved through modelling, analysing, abstracting and validating a range of certain engineering and production processes in selected vehicle-projects. A substantial effort in overcoming the historical borders between development and production is achieved through applying an integrated approach. It is shown that isochronicaly coordinated development of product and production, following the principles of simultaneous engineering, is feasible.
