experts rail tunnel Innsbruck, dolomite mining Schwaz (Tyrol), Galgenbergtunnel, Semmering Pilottunnel, Tunnel Melk, Assingbergtunnel, Koralmtunnel, Central Cross Island Expressway (ROC) Short Description: The activities of the institute cover education and research in the field of Rock Mechanics and Tunnelling. In addition the institute is a partner to contractors, clients, and consultants in questions of rock engineering. The institute emphasises the interdisciplinary co-operation, which in addition to other co-operations, led to the foundation of the "Geotechnical Group Graz". Close contacts to the industry guarantee an up to date education and research which is oriented towards the needs of practice. The institute also operates a small, but well equipped rock mechanics laboratory.
