Numerical simulation of impedance cardiogram changes in case of chronic aortic dissection

Abstract

Aortic dissection is an extremely dangerous aortic disease which alters the aortic shape as well as the blood flow in the region concerned. A numerical simulation model based on the Thoracic Electrical Bioimpedance technique for investigat-ing effects caused by the aortic dissections is proposed. The ef-fect of these changes on time-dependent hemodynamic parame-ters are shown in this paper.
