Abstract

In this thesis the primary task was to develop appropriate skin electrodes for a skin impedance measurement. These electrodes should enable the detection of an impedance change (decrease) of the skin as precisely and reliably as possible. The existing sensor interface injects a sinusoidal current through the electrodes into the tissue and can thereby determine ist impedance. To find the best electrode geometry and configuration, several simulations were carried out with various models. The results of these simulations were the basis for the later development and manufacturing of
the electrodes.
To proof the results of the simulation, measurements on pork rind and synthetic tissue were carried out. To validate the results of the sensor interface, measurements of the skin impedance with an oscilloscope were performed.
