Abstract

A brief review about techniques and available commercial software for numerical transient electromagnetic field analysis was presented and more trustworthy computational examples for partial discharge propagation in complex apparatus were discussed. It was shown that such computations can be approached in a number of ways in both the frequency and time domains. The frequency and time domaian method provides solution as a function of time by expanding the electromagnetic components of Maxwell's equation in three-dimensional space.
