PACEPAC - Production and Certification of a Road Dust Reference Material for Palladium, Platinum and Rhodium used in Automotive Catalytic Converters

The overall objective of this project is to supply the needs of a suitable certified reference material (CRM) for the analysis of Pd, Pt, Rh in environmental matrices. The aim has to be seen in the increasing research activities on the emission of these noble metals. Till now there is no environmentally relevant CRM available. For PACEPAC a road dust, taken from the ceiling of a tunnel, is suggested to be a relevant matrix, as it provides these noble metals in the chemical form in which they are emitted from automotive catalysts.
