NanoLam - Electrodeposited nano-laminates as wear-resistant corrosion protection layers for upstream pipes

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Corrosion and wear of pipes contribute significantly to the cost of oil production. The use of innovative galvanic layers is intended to minimize these costs in the upstream production. In this project, steel sheet samples are to be electroplated in order to increase their corrosion and wear resistance. Apart from layers already used in industry, novel multi-layer systems based on composition-modulated nano-laminates shall be electrodeposited and tested. Potential company partners will be searched for transferring the project results into a technical environment in the framework of a subsequent dissertation.
