Description

Dynamical Electron Spin Resonance (ESR)-spectroscopy is used to measure the rate constants of charge transfer reactions. Both, electron and proton transfer is studied on organic radicals in solution. The aim of these studies is to understand the influence of internal structural changes and the interactions with the surrounding solvent molecules, upon the charge transfer steps. Time resolved ESR-spectroscopy (CIDEP = Chemical Induced Dynamic Electron Polarization) is used to investigate the dynamic and spin-correlated behaviour of short-living radical ion-pairs in solution.
