Project Details
Description
CIGAR IV is an ESA-project, which is conducted by an european consortium. The project goals are the refinement of numerical techniques, developed in the previous CIGAR III project, for the purpose of satellite-based global gravity field determination, the investigation of internal mass distribution estimation from seismic and gravity field data, the study of tidal effects on satellites, the estimation of the location of the solid earth surface beneath the ice shield in the Antarctic and in Greenland, and the consistent combination of satellite data with surface gravity field data for the improvement of gravity field parameters.
