AutoStat - Tracking / transponding technologies for national statistics

The purpose of project at hand is to develop an application for mobile devices ("smartphones") or similar hardware which allows a largely automatic collection of data which is required for statistical reports in road freight transport. The benefit of the application will be increased data quality, reduced administrative burden for respondents as well as for Statistics Austria, and lower costs of data collection.
