Abstract

Wood is one of the most important backbones of the Austrian economy. The digitalization of this supply chain, which starts with the harvesting process and ends with the final product, holds potential to create a more efficient working process and finally to gain higher transparency. This paper presents an analysis and visualization of the transportation data of the forest-based supply chain using a dataset of 2015 provided by the Holzcluster Steiermark GmbH. The aim is to create a tool for visual analytics, which is offered as web-based solution. In particular we focus on the temporal and spatial aggregation and analysis of the available datasets.
