Abstract
Traditionally, system level design of automotive embedded systems is manually performed by experienced engineers: Functions or software components are partitioned onto Electronic Control Units (ECUs), their runnables are assigned to operating system tasks, and the communication matrix between ECUs is designed to satisfy the cross-ECU communication. These complex engineering tasks known as AUTOSAR system configuration are time-consuming and error-prone. To handle ever increasing system complexity and ever shorter time to market, Virtual Vehicle discusses new engineering methodologies.
