Abstract

In the present study, a literature review about block braked wheels is given. The main topics are the behaviour of the wheel material and the influence of the block brake, especially for finite element simulation and damage models. Relevant parameters are searched from literature to calculate temperature changes, residual stresses and wheel rim deformations.
