Abstract
Industry 4.0 raises the need for complex autonomoussystem. Smart factories, which make use of flexible andautonomous agents to organize the production chains, require some efforts for the integration of many top-ics from Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Forthis reason, the RoboCup Logistic League (RCLL) wascreated as a Flexible Production testbed for researchersworking on these fields and to give the opportunity todifferent scientific communities to foster integration be-tween their subjects. Among the others, planning andscheduling is a branch of AI which is crucial for theorganization and execution of the workflow in smartproduction and logistics environment. In this paper theRCLL is investigated from this perspective to under-stand if and how it drives advanced planning approachesin production scenarios. Based on that evaluation a setof proposals is presented to foster discussion on how thecompetition can be improved for a better exchange withthe planning community.
