Abstract
An accessible glass bridge is the world-wide first prototype for bridge structures made from cold bent glass. The cold bent material, an ambitious structural concept and the comprehensive use of bonded joints are the particular characteristics of this glass bridge. The spectacular transparent experiment is the result of a cooperation between seele GmbH, IBK Forschung und Entwicklung of Stuttgart University and Engelsmann Peters Beratende Ingenieure GmbH. This article describes the structural design concept and the structural design process as well as the fabrication of the glass bridge.
