Abstract

The rotational structure in the 2Σ+ ground state of BaBr has been analysed for the first time. Precise Dunham coefficients have been derived from microwave spectra in the 100 GHz range for the two isotopes 138Ba79Br and 138Ba81Br. Hyperfine structure has been partially resolved in one rotational transition of 137Ba79Br. Hyperfine coupling parameters b, c and eqQ for 137Ba, and b for 79Br, have been determined.
