Abstract
A process for rapidly controlling a step motor without step losses should at the same time allow a high resolution to be obtained at the target. A step angle table precalculated for the specific system gives per interval/step the step angle (SW) and range parameters by means of which the actual deviation with respect to the target is allocated to an incrementation range (acceleration with a larger step angle, to a decrementation range (braking with a reduced step angle) or to a correction range (operation with an unchanged step angle). The step angles are multiples of a microstep and are allocated with increasing values to successive addresses which are modified depending on the ranges.
