PCWE for FSAI -- Derivation of scalar wave equations for fluid-structure-acoustics interaction of low Mach number flows

Research output: Working paperPreprint

Abstract

This paper derives the perturbed convective wave equation using the instantaneous velocity field as basis for the convective operator. This is of particular importance when modeling fluid-structure-acoustic interaction (FSAI) problems, like the human phonation. Two alternative derivations are shown, one starting from the linearized perturbed compressible equations (LPCE) and one based on the acoustic perturbation equations of variant 2 (APE-2).
