Abstract

Investigation of the load-bearing behaviour of connections of the hybrid mast construction – Large-scale tests and FEM-simulations. The grouted concrete-steel slip joint is developed in this paper for the application in hybrid mast constructions from the grouted steel slip joint. The decisive bending stress of the masts is transferred from the steel pipe with shear keys via the grout joint into the spun concrete pole below. The force flow in the connection changes continuously with the increase in load and is decisively influenced by the deformation behaviour of the poles. The load-bearing and deformation behaviour of the new joint is investigated in this paper by means of two large-scale tests and accompanying FEM simulations. Furthermore, the influence on the load-bearing and deformation behaviour is determined and discussed on the basis of two varied parameters, the position of the shear keys and a grouted slip joint without shear keys.
