ICs als Quelle der Störemissionen von elektronischen Geräten und Systemen?

Since the early days of electronic device and system developments, corresponding problems with high electromagnetic emissions and insufficient immunity exist. Meeting the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements of electronic equipment always represented a certain challenge. In addition, the enormous developments in the area of the integrated circuit technology forced the semiconductor manufacturers to deal with this subject, as the EMC of ICs can have a substantial influence on the EMC behaviour of the entire electronic system. This contribution gives a short overview of the most frequent sources of the electromagnetic emissions of ICs, how these emissions can be characterized and what should be taken into consideration when selecting ICs for electronic system developments.
