Abstract
The introduction of zero emission vehicles, both battery and fuel cell driven, is mandatory in terms of environmental protection. Magna Steyr Engineering, the Institute for Powertrains and Automotive Technology at the Vienna University of Technology, HyCentA and Proton Motor developed a range extended vehicle that combines the advantages of both technologies. The utilisation of a 16-kWh Li-ion battery as well as a 25-kW fuel cell results in a combined range of 350 km.
