Abstract

Currently an Austrian-Turkish Consortium is constructing the 300 MW Hydro Power Plant Ermenek in Turkey. The dam is located in a mega-block (olistolith) of Nadire limestone. This highly karstified limestone is embedded in an impervious melange of ophiolitic rocks. In order to achieve the water tightness of the reservoir, the grout curtain has to withstand more than 220 m of water pressure. The design and execution of the grout curtain with interims evaluation of the success of grouting works is subject of this report. Start of impounding is scheduled for May 2009.
