Abstract

In view of the global climate crisis and an impending disruptive collapse of economic systems based on fossil fuels,
Graz University of Technology is aware of its role as a forward-thinking, innovative workshop for the future of society and wants to contribute to sustainable development with its diverse scientific expertise. The current status quo was determined within the framework of a greenhouse gas balance. Subsequently, the Graz University of Technology Sustainability Advisory Board developed additional goals, recommendations and concrete greenhouse gas emission reduction measures. Based on these, numerous measures
were defined and initiated in close cooperation between research, teaching and administration. These principles form
the structured framework for implementing the roadmap for
decarbonisation by 2030, making Graz University of Technology the first university in Austria to implement a concrete roadmap for climate neutrality
