N2 - Application of the Systems Engineering method in production scheduling of building projects This article deals with the method of Systems Engineering (SE) in production scheduling of building projects. It shows how system thinking and systematic approach can help to use the scarce resources (time and staff) for production scheduling more efficiently. At first the method of Systems Engineering and the tasks, aims and activities of production scheduling are described. After these basics the application of the SE-method in production scheduling is shown on the example of the structural works of the opera house of Linz. Finally the benefits of the Systems Engineering method are shown followed by the authors' conclusions.
