Tunnel De-watering

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

For existing traffic tunnel lane dewatering systems a capacity of at least 70 l/s is required. The dewatering capacity refers to inlet shafts to allow swallowing the amount of flow within a length of 200m. Additionally the shaft should dewater through a siphon which is very often the bottleneck in the system.
To prove the requirement the Institute of Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources Management carries out numerical analyses, hydraulic physical model test in the laboratory and in situ emptying tests. For example of this the Oswaldiberg, the Plabutsch tunnel as well as the tunnel chain Klaus are named.
