Project Details
Description
Embedded software is more prevalent, more often employed in safety-critical situations, and much more difficult to test than PC-based software. The difficulty in testing derives in good part from the fact that embedded software is often part of a system of interacting systems that are difficult to model faithfully, predict correctly, or observe accurately. TARGET will research rigorous methods to automatically augment existing test suites for software running on embedded systems, specifically addressing this challenge. This will result in a tool that will help achieve higher test coverage, lower prevalence of undetected errors, reduced development costs, and a shorter time-to-market.
