Sustainability in construction

The Working Group Sustainable Construction at the Institute of Structural Design is dedicated to performing research on sustainability assessment methods. This involves investigating their integration into the building design process, their suitability for real-world applications in the built environment, and ensuring successful implementation in demonstration projects. In our interdisciplinary projects, we place significant emphasis on optimizing both environmental and economic performance by employing life cycle assessment (LCA), life cycle costing, system analysis, and multi-criteria assessment methods.
