Project Details

Description

In this research project, a novel absorber, consisting of melamine resin, was investigated in detail especially to detect effects of deep frequencies on room acoustics. Primarily modern room designs without acoustical friendly surfaces are received by the inhabitants as disruptive factors in the area of low frequencies. The investigated absorber is ordinary to manufacture, can easily be integrated into today's architecture and it is characterized by low space requirements. Effects and sensitivites of the prototype were analyzed by a three dimensional simulatative analyse in an adapted simulation model. Using the FEM approach enabled a precision and first validation of the effects in low frequencies. It led to optimization potentials and necessities for further research investigations.
