Simulationsaufbau - Finite elements (FE) simulation setup

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

An FE model of an EDF unit with reduced complexity will be developed to perform acoustic simulations of the engine. The rotating sound sources on the rotor blades will be obtained from the enveloping surface measurements performed in the previous master thesis. The verification of the simulation procedure can be achieved by comparing the sound pressure levels determined by the tests during the master thesis, especially by applying the resonance absorbers in the simulation. The advantages of this FE simulation are the early insights into the effects of the enclosure design and the directional characteristics of an engine. Casing and absorber variants can thus be virtually tested or optimised.
