Description

Structural analysis of dams and hydraulic structures: To assess the structural safety of dams and hydraulic structures linear and non-linear calculations are carried out, using analytical as well as the finite-element-methods. This means that the influences of static and dynamic loads on these structures are analyzed. For example: the bearing behavior of concrete and fill dams under static and dynamic (earthquake) loading, considering the fluid-structure-interaction of the dam with the reservoir. Dam Surveillance and interpretation of measurement results: Usually a large number of monitoring devices are installed in large dams for the dam surveillance. To get a better understanding of this behavior the results of the dam monitoring and structural calculations are used, to create prediction models that are based on statistical methods too.
