ROMP in General and (Block)Copolymers

Within this area the synthesis and development of new initiators for the ROMP (“Ring Opening Metathesis Polymerisation”) is driven forward. The most prominent goal is the improvement of Ru-initiators towards high activity and specificity. Together with already well-known examples the new initiators are used or tailor made to produce a variety of specialty polymers. Amongst those block-copolymers are of great interest. As the polymerisation can be carried out in a “living” manner well defined blocks can be formed.
