For a 15km long pressure tunnel the optimum operation to reduce up- and downsurge phenomena are investigated. The challenge for this specific research is the optimum hydraulic layout for actual but also future operation of the scheme. The actual project considers an inner tunnel diameter of 8,5m and a design flow of 85m3/s. Especially the appropriate selection of hydraulic losses and design of hydraulic elements are of great importance for the investigations.
