Description

Limiting the energy consumption of computers, especially mobiles, is becomming increasingly important. The problem is to minimze energy consumption by retaining full usability of the device. The main goal of this research area is to develop software and hardware strategies for mobile computer energy management. This is reflected in a special component-oriented software framework (nearly platform independent), which supports remote processing and the use of low-power modes of mobile devices. The framework makes use of hardware parameters and component parameters for optimizing the energy consumption. Further, this framework simplifies the power aware software design.
