Project Details
Description
Based on observations of non-thermal population of the Balmer lines of hydrogen at stationary high-power plasma jets a pulsed plasma jet is used being pumped by a plasmafocus rather than a stationary arc. Helium is used as working gas, since the Balmer-alpha line Hell164,0 nm of hydrogen-like Helium is considered as candidate for population inversion. The optical diagnostics consists of a fast, differentially pumped dedection system including a spectrograph (grating: 1200 l/mm), a gateable multichannel plate and a CCD-camera. Emission spectra of the Hell 164,0 nm line are investigated depending on filling pressure and charging voltage.
