Description

SUSTAINABLE PULP PRODUCTION - RECOVERY OF ENERGY AND WATER FROM DRYER EXHAUST Modern pulp mills typically produce aside its main product pulp also energy for the grid or supply district heating. Drying, being one process step in pulping produces exhaust air from pulp dryers containing high amounts of residual energy since normally only a small part of the evaporated water is condensed in the heat recovery. The remaining energy is exhausted. Is it possible, to further recover this energy in a sustainable and economical way? The challenge is to find the most suitable technology and process layout, identify possible suppliers, and evaluate the business case.
