Project Details

Description

The central issue of this research assignment was the purification of sulphurous off-gas through photocatalytic accelerated absorption. In a special developed multipurpose column, which works as bubble column, film absorber, gas- or liquid reactor basic experiments for photocatalytic accelerated SO2-Absorption were enforced. The mechanism of photocatalytic absorption was investigated. In the experiments the feed concentration of sulphur dioxide was varied in the range of 300 to 1000 mg/Nm³. Further the absorption rate with and without photocatalytic acceleration were compared.
