Optimal Technology Networks for Regional and Urban Utilisation of Renewable Ressources

Since most of the renewable resources can be used in different ways, the question arises: "How can they be used best?" The optimal use for a region or a city (or a part of a city respectively) can be determined with the so called "Process Network Synthesis" (PNS). Within this methodology the energetic use of renewable resources is part of the optimization in any case, the material use can be part of it. The "RegiOpt - Conceptual Planner" is a simple online tool for approximate regional optimizations: regiopt.tugraz.at. An online expert tool ("RegiOpt - Advanced Designer") is under construction.
