Description

The mechanical deformation of two Roebel bars embed-ded in a slot of an electrical machine is mainly depending on the acting electro-magnetic forces, the used assembly of composite materials and the applied mechanical slot wedge fixing. Within the coupled numerical field analysis, there must be distinguished between mechanical loose and mechanical fixed Roebel bars inside a slot. Thereby, mechanical loose bars can be obtained from the primary fixed bars due to the mechanical deformation within continuos rising bar currents. The application of a hybrid technique allows to describe the transitional state between both cases in dependency of the electrical current and various used composite materials the Roebel bars are built up. The mechanical behavior is further analyzed in dependency on various parameters for both cases, the mechanical lose as well as the mechanical fixed operational state. Main guidelines for the construction and design process have been established with regard to the multifarious electromechanical problem.
