Interchange ramp terminals of the Austrian motorway and major highway network were grouped in typical interchange types and classified by capacity and safety. A mix of two methods was used for this cluster exercise. Statistical data mining of cross sectional counts and analysis of three case studies were used to find clusters. As a result a sheet with the major characteristics of interchange ramps, grouped in exits and entrances ,describes the findings for standard applications.
