Project Details
Description
The major objective of this research is to develop a precipitation simulation method for mod.9Cr-1Mo martensitic (ASME Gr.91).
Understanding pathways of microstructure degradation during high temperature and creep load is necessary to optimize service time of boilers as well as welds to opti-mize parameters during the manufacturing process.
Material flux as the cause for microstructure degradation can be monitored by the observation of
- Precipitation evolution during service
- Evolution of dislocation density during service
- Grain size and sub grain size evolution during service
- Solid solution of atoms during service
- Void formation during service
