Metallpowder-cored wire for welding high-strength steels (JOIN A.7)

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

For the welding of high strength steels a high-alloyed metalpowder-cored wire should be developed. The microstructure of the weld metal should be austenitic or austenitic-ferritic, whereat its strength has to be maximized. Aspects to be considered are as follow: Best ductility, high fatigue strength, cost effectiveness and minimal joint preparation for welding position B (fillet weld).
