MCL Creep - Development of a ferritic creep resistant steel with superior creep strength and creep fatigue resistance

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Objective of the project is (1) to develop a concept for an oxidation resistant ferritic and ferritic-martensitic 13 – 16% Cr steel with sufficient mechanical properties for steam and gas turbine applications to achieve at least a service lifetime of 100.000h at a temperature of 650°C with a stress level of 100MPa, (2) to generate a sufficient strength (YS >700 MPa) and notch toughness (> 20J) at room temperature.
