LC-MS study of stability of emerging pollutants in surface water during laboratory storage

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

This is a contribution to an EU-wide monitoring of European Rivers for emerging pollutants. The chemical pollution of natural freshwater has already become a major public concern in almost all parts of the world due to its unkown long-term effects on aquatic life and on human health. The aim is to develop a quantitative LC-MS method to study the stability of river water samples from sampling, transportation to lab storage. This includes a dozent of selected polar pollutants such as perfluorinated acids, antibiotics, pesticides and herbicides, etc.
