Project Details

Description

he research focus of the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Clinical Forensic Imaging in Graz is to establish the use of non-invasive magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in applications of legal medicine and for investigations of injuries due to violence. With the use of MRI injuries to the body may be documented without the use of x-ray radiation. Research interest exists with respect to the mapping of tissue specific measured MRI data values to anatomical structures, which is relevant for repeatable and simplified visualizations. In this project the goal is to develop methods to standardize MRI data, thus enabling 3D visualization techniques. The outcome is a better computer-assisted evaluation of MRI data and a more efficient work-flow in clinical as well as legal medicine. The work is performed in collaboration with experts from Graz University of Technology
