Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

The project aims at increasing the efficiency of air-source heat pumps at low ambient temperature levels up to -25°C. The icing behaviour of newly developed heat exchanger concepts will be evaluated and optimised; various modification of the circuit will be modelled and simulation studies for low ambient temperatures will be conducted. The results, which will be distributed to the Austrian heat pump manufacturers, will improve the understanding of the mechanism underlying the components of, as well as within, air-source heat pump systems.
