HighTemp-LBM - Simulation of heat transfer processes in high-temperature processes and porous media using the lattice Boltzmann method

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

As already mentioned, CFD simulations on the basis of the finite volume method form the state of the art for the calculation of high-temperature processes (especially heat transport). However, these simulations are time-consuming. The aim of this project is therefore the further development of the LBM to calculate both the flow field and the heat transfer in high-temperature applications, and thus to achieve a reduction of the computing time. At the same time, both the parts for the coupling of the flow with the energy equation and a specie transport model as well as the algorithm for calculating the radiative transfer equation are to be developed separately.
