Description
Bursting hydraulic equipment carries an unimaginable risk for those present. Therefore, it is necessary to establish suitable separation components around test stands for such systems.
The penetration resistance of sand-lime brick walls, which serve as partitions between test spaces for hydraulic components
and control room or gangway, was evaluated on the basis of results of a literature review of appropriate research projects and a building-mechanical estimation. As a damage scenario, a specific failing hydraulic component with an impact speed of 150 m / s was specified by the customer. In addition, the transferability of the results of a specific pendulum impact test to the situation on the ground was examined.
