GUARDS - Rigorous Verification of Masked AES Implementations Using the Concept "Changing of the Guards"

The focus is on first- and second-order protected AES hardware implementations that use Domain-Oriented Masking (DOM). Building on this, various concepts for implementing the reuse of masks in the context of DOM for AES are examined. In particular, exemplary approaches include combining proportions between sboxes input into the same subsequent MixColumns operation and combining proportions of sboxes input into different MixColumns operations.
