Project Details

Description

The component aims at identifying the subset of glycerophospholipid hydrolases in mammalian cell proteomes. For this purpose taylor-made phospholipids will be developed as suicide inhibitors, photoactivatable probes and substrates for the selective detection and functional characterization of the active target enzymes in cultured animal cells and tissues. These novel molecular tools will be used to identify yet unknown phospholipases that escaped detection by conventional methods so far.
